Iloilo is found in the southern most part of Panay Island and has been one of the oldest  Spanish civilization in the Country. Being established as old as time, Iloilo holds the most number of old churches  that has been frequented by tourist all over the country. Beautiful as they seem, Iloilo churches are indeed kept and maintain to withstand different natural calamities as the island of Panay sits in the Pacific Ring of Fire that experienced 4-7 earthquake per year. Miag-ao Church


Miag-ao Church is one of the few remaining old churches in the country witnessed the different regime and colonization from Spanish to Japanese to American occupation. This 200 + years old church is composed of blocks of lime and egg white that sinks 6 meters below the ground, has 1 1/2 thick block, and an average of 11 meters tall from ground to the ceiling.

Molo Church

Molo Church is also one of the famous church of Iloilo. Has an architecture base in Gothic-Rennaisance period. This is considered as a feminist church in Iloilo. Female saint structures stand on each pillar of the church.

Miag-ao and Molo Church are two of the several old churches in Iloilo that was built a century ago and never they would give you disappointment. Visit these churches and see how each of them differs from one another.

When you are lucky enough and like to do fiesta hopping, Enjoy and see Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo that is celebrated to honor the patron saint Sr. Sto Nino and to celebrate the arrival in Panay of the Malay settlers held every January. Dinagyang Festival is one of the biggest and grandest festival in the Philippines that showcased group choreographs, dances, colorful floats and costumes and Ilonggos heritage and culture.

Upon visiting Iloilo, don’t forget to taste their famous La Paz Batchoy. Two top batchoy houses is known in the area. Do stop at Ted’s La Paz Batchoy and Deco’s La Paz Batchoy. ***Batchoy originated from the district of Iloilo, La Paz.
